Sustainable Renewable Energy

General Interest

In this course, students will be provided with a comprehensive introduction to renewable energy systems, technologies, and their integration within the evolving global energy landscape. Through an interdisciplinary approach, students will delve into the principles, advantage, and challenges of various renewable energy sources including solar, wind, hydropower, geothermal, biomass, and wave and tidal. The course will emphasize the socio-economic, environmental, and policy dimensions of renewable energy adoption, equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary to contribute to sustainable energy solutions. Online course: dates and times TBA starting week of March 3, 2025. Course 10 weeks in length - week 1 (2 hours), weeks 2 - 9 (3 hours weekly), week 10 (2 hours).
